CLEVELAND — Cleveland has made a spot on Forbes’ “top housing markets to watch in 2021” list.

Cleveland ranked No. 5 on the list of 15 cities where the housing market is booming despite being in the middle of the global pandemic.

Using housing data from Zillow, including changes in home values over the last five years, as well as data from Redfin, including a number of home sales and available inventory, Forbes created the list of housing markets to watch in 2021.

“Despite suffering from population loss and a decline in industry like much of the “Rust Belt,” Cleveland still has a lot going for it,” Forbes wrote about Cleveland.

According to compiled data, available for-sale inventory stood at 8,364 homes in October 2019, a number that barely changed from October 2018’s inventory of 8,724. However, in October 2020, Cleveland’s inventory was down to 4,876 homes available.

Taking the No. 1 spot was Boise, Idaho. Coming in last was Omaha, Nebraska – Cleveland News 5
